Marco Rubio: Ukraine's problem is not that there is no money, but that there are no Ukrainians - 1

„Ukraine's problem is not that there is no money, but that there are no Ukrainians.“ This was stated by the candidate for US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a hearing in Congress, Strana.ua reported, quoted by Focus.

„This war must end. "Everyone needs to be realistic: there will have to be concessions from Russia, Ukraine and the United States," Rubio said, calling for an end to the conflict.

According to him, it is "unrealistic to believe" that Ukraine will be able to regain all of its occupied territories, even though Russia has no chance of conquering the entire country.

Rubio stressed that "the official position of the United States should be to end this war," noting that future talks on Ukraine are likely to include discussions on its neutrality and the possible easing of sanctions against Russia.

He also quoted former President Donald Trump as saying: "I want to stop the deaths of people in Ukraine." Rubio added that “this is worth a few dollars and a few decades“.

Meanwhile, the Financial Times reported that the Trump team is reconsidering its approach to ending the conflict in Ukraine. According to the publication, European officials are already discussing these intentions with the incoming US administration.
