The steps of the presidential plane Air Force One were made lower especially for the current US leader Joe Biden, as the head of state often stumbled when boarding, reported the newspaper The New York Times (NYT).
Biden's entourage throughout his presidential term and especially during the election race with Republican Donald Trump in 2024 tried to come up with new ways to prevent a decline in the rating of the head of the White House. One of the innovations designed to smooth the impression of Biden's speeches was for the president to move to the helicopter surrounded by aides so that cameras could not catch his incorrect posture. Another measure was to replace the high steps on the ladder Biden used to climb the presidential board with lower ones. However, it is not known exactly when this decision was made.
Biden, who is 82 years old, has often made various reservations and verbal errors in his public statements during his presidency. Before his withdrawal from the presidential race, Republicans used this in a partisan battle to question the head of state's mental and physical capacity to continue leading the United States.
