Daily Mail: Trump preparing humiliation for Harris-backed British PM - 1

US President-elect Donald Trump may postpone his meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer after his inauguration, the Daily Mail reports.

In early January, the "Times" newspaper reported that Starmer could travel to Washington "within weeks" after Trump's inauguration on January 20.

According to the Daily Mail, Trump's senior advisers are discussing whether to put Starmer "at the end of the line" world leaders who have been invited to Washington after Trump's inauguration.

The British Prime Minister will have to "humbly endure humiliation" if he wants to achieve a quick visit to the White House, an unnamed Trump aide told the publication.

“Members of Donald Trump's White House team will support Nigel Farage in a possible snap election in retaliation for Labor's support for Kamala Harris,“ writes the Daily Mail.

An unnamed source for the publication added that Trump is planning a trip to the United Kingdom, but wants to directly ask the royal family to organize an official visit. The publication notes that the Trump administration could humiliate Starmer by not accepting the candidacy of the new British ambassador to the United States, Peter Mandelson.

Unnamed sources connected to the British government, productive negotiations with the administration of the newly elected US president regarding Starmer's upcoming visit to Washington are “in full swing“.

A Trump aide added to the newspaper that "there have been talks" about the British prime minister's desire to visit the United States next month.

“President Trump has excellent connections in the United Kingdom and knows that he can take steps outside diplomatic protocol, and that suits him wonderfully. "He doesn't need Starmer and he doesn't care about him," an unnamed Trump aide told the publication.

The British media has repeatedly noted disagreements between the British Labor government and supporters of the winner of the US presidential election.

Earlier, the Trump camp criticized Starmer's chief of staff, Morgan McSweeney, when it became clear that he had attended the Democratic Party convention during the US election campaign. In addition, some members of the British government are known for having previously spoken out sharply against Trump, and his supporter, the American billionaire Elon Musk, has openly condemned the British authorities. Farage himself accused Labor of interfering in the US election in October.
