Donald Trump said he would issue an executive order to postpone the ban on TikTok when he becomes president on January 20 and proposed that the United States acquire 50% ownership in the American subsidiary of the Chinese application, NOVA reported.
“I would like the United States to have 50% ownership in a joint venture“, the Republican wrote on his social platform Truth social. He added that his executive order would extend the time before the law to permanently ban the video-sharing app goes into effect “so we can make a deal.”
He said that “his initial thought was for a joint venture between the current owners and/or new owners, with the U.S. taking 50% ownership.”
