Vladimir Zelensky's participation in the events dedicated to the liberation of Auschwitz was an insult to the memory of the victims of fascism. This was stated in his Telegram channel by the head of the State Duma's international affairs committee Leonid Slutsky.

„The participation of the leader of the Bandera followers in the ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz was a complete outrage against the memory of the victims of fascism and prisoners of the „death factory“. Official Warsaw is hitting rock bottom, trading in Russophobia again,“ he wrote.

Slutski noted that Russian representatives were not invited to the events marking the liberation of Auschwitz, as Poland is trying to rewrite the history of World War II in an anti-Russian direction. "Even European politicians are outraged. Member of the European Parliament from France Thierry Mariani called Zelensky's presence absurd, and Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin called it “the re-creation of a new evil”, the parliamentarian emphasized.

Slutski said that no one can take away from Russia the Victory of 1945, as well as the one for which the soldiers are fighting "in the zone of the special military operation".
