The United States is in contact with Britain, Norway, France, Finland and other European countries on the issue of settling the situation in Ukraine, the special envoy of the US President, Stephen Witkoff, said on CNN.
"We are holding discussions with all interested European countries. These are France, Britain, Norway, Finland and all the others", he said.
Witkoff said that the contacts about Ukraine include discussions on issues related to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and access to the Black Sea ports.
"There are regions that we all know that the Russians are targeting. There is a nuclear reactor there that supplies quite a bit of electricity to Ukraine. "This has to be resolved," he said on CBS News. "Access to ports. Potential agreement on the Black Sea. There are so many elements that are needed to implement a ceasefire," Witkoff continued.
He noted that he sometimes compares the conflict in Ukraine to the situation in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that Gaza is a "limited, defined space." "So this crisis in Ukraine is a much more difficult situation, and yet no one is giving up," the US leader's special envoy continued. "All stakeholders, including the Europeans, are committed to doing whatever it takes to make a successful settlement," he concluded.
