Russia launched its third consecutive nighttime air strike on Kiev, in which one person was injured and several houses were damaged in the area around the Ukrainian capital, the governor of the Kiev region Mykola Kalashnik said, quoted by Reuters and BTA.

A 37-year-old man suffered shrapnel wounds to the upper body and head, the governor said in a post on "Telegram".

"The man was hospitalized," Kalashnik added.

A 54-year-old woman was injured in an attack late last night in the southeastern Zaporozhye region and windows of multi-storey and residential buildings were damaged, the regional administration said in "Telegram".

The attacks came after a Ukrainian delegation met with U.S. officials for peace talks in Saudi Arabia and ahead of Russian-U.S. talks scheduled for today to discuss ways to ensure the safety of shipping in the Black Sea.

The United States is pushing for a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia and hopes to reach a broad ceasefire in the war by April 20, Bloomberg reported yesterday. But despite the push for peace, both sides have reported ongoing strikes.

The full extent of last night's attack is still unclear. There was no comment from the Russian side, Reuters notes, recalling that both sides deny attacking civilians in the war that began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

According to Ukrainian air force maps in Kiev, its surroundings and the eastern half of Ukraine were on alert for airstrikes for several hours, starting late last night.

Firefighters have been battling flames for the fifth day at an oil depot in Russia's Krasnodar region after a drone strike, which authorities blame on Ukraine, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA, citing a statement from the regional administration.

"One of the tankers and oil products at the facility are on fire," the administration said in a post on "Telegram" last night.

Yesterday, the area of the fire at the depot near the village of Kavkazka was about 2,000 square meters, according to the same source. The area of the fire had almost doubled the previous night after a spill of oil products.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said the attack amounted to a violation of an agreement to stop attacks on energy infrastructure as part of efforts to secure a ceasefire in the war in Ukraine.

Yesterday, local authorities brought in fire-fighting trains loaded with water to help fight the fire.

The depot is a rail terminal for the delivery of Russian oil for a pipeline to Kazakhstan.
