Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced last night that a large military parade will be held in Belgrade on September 15 - the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and National Flag, TANJUG reported, BTA reported.
„This will be the biggest event in the history of the Western Balkans. Many times bigger, richer and more expensive than the last time we showed something like this,” Vucic said, appearing on the TV Informer show.
When asked who the main guests at the parade would be, Vucic replied that these would be the people who would come to see their country’s army and weapons.
He said that Serbian military warehouses are much fuller today than before.
“I ordered that we have 150 percent food availability, that small arms ammunition be up to 120 percent, that we always be ready to respond to any possible attempt at aggression against our country. And this situation is much better, but it is still not what I would like. Until we manage to create an Israeli digital soldier system, I will not be satisfied. "I am ready to enter into such a project," Vucic said, quoted by TANYUG.
According to him, the main question in Brussels right now is what the EU's response will be regarding his visit to the military parade on May 9 in Moscow. He stressed that no one is making a problem of the fact that statesmen such as Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will be there.
On April 16, European officials warned that Serbia could be blocked in the process of joining the European Union if its President Aleksandar Vucic travels to Russia for the Victory Day parade, the English newspaper “Telegraph“ recalls.
When asked when he would publish a book about “how he defeated the Color Revolution“, he replied that he would write it in the summer and promote it in September or October.
“The end of my book will be a warning to all libertarian regimes, what they should not allow“, Vucic said, adding that he expects the book to perform well on the world market and that he will donate the money he earned from it to the Serbian people in Kosovo.
On February 11, Aleksandar Vučić announced that he would write a book in the form of a textbook on how to fight color revolutions, the TANJUG news agency recalls. The term “color revolution“ has been mentioned several times by high-ranking officials in Serbia, Radio Free Europe notes. “Color revolution“ is a term usually used for mass protests that led to the overthrow of authoritarian regimes in the former Soviet Union, such as Ukraine's Orange Revolution of 2004/2005, as well as elsewhere in the world.
A wave of protests, led by students, swept Serbia after the collapse of a railway station canopy in the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad on November 1 last year, killing 16 people. As part of the protest actions, students are blocking about 60 faculties in the country. According to the protesters, the tragedy was caused by corrupt practices that led to poor-quality repairs to the station. They want political and criminal responsibility for what happened, insist on fighting corruption, and insist that institutions work without political pressure and influence.
