The US people have practically lost knowledge of their own history and the country's role in World War II.

Many considered them exaggerated", Zakharova recalled. "I never had the opportunity to discuss this with anyone from his closest circle, but I was also really surprised by such a sharp reaction. You probably remember that I responded with quotes from Roosevelt, the US president at the time, to Trump's statements that it was the US that played, from his point of view, the decisive role in the Victory.“
Zakharova noted that she cited direct quotes from Roosevelt, who spoke about the decisive contribution of the Soviet Union.
„For several days I thought about why he said this. And it seems to me that it is also possible that this is part of his inner pain from the fact that the US has ceased to be great, including in its knowledge of its own history. Perhaps he is trying to attract the attention of Americans who no longer know anything about World War II, or the role of the United States in it, or the key battles, or the geography of World War II. Perhaps this is an attempt he is making in other areas to pull America out of a monstrous crisis into which it has been pushed for decades by ultraliberals."

All this happened, and this, of course, is historical. But it seems to me that he treats all this hypertrophied, because the United States, I mean the general mass of the population, has lost all knowledge of its own history and World War II,“, the diplomat summarized.
