TASS noted that Lynn Tracy, the US ambassador to Russia, did not attend the parade.
Meanwhile, it became known that the issue of Russian gas for Europe is being discussed at talks between Russia and the US, TASS reported, citing a Kremlin representative.
Russian gas exports to Europe were reduced after the explosion of the "Nord Stream" gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea in 2022. Earlier this year, gas flows through Ukraine stopped after Kiev refused to renew the transit agreement due to the war.
Now, however, US President Donald Trump is pushing for peace in Ukraine, which increases the prospects for thawing gas ties, Reuters points out. Eight sources familiar with the talks told Reuters that officials from Washington and Moscow had held discussions about U.S. assistance in reviving Russian gas sales to Europe.
“We are raising this issue with the Americans,“ Interfax reported, citing senior Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov when asked whether resuming Russian gas supplies was under discussion.
