At least 478 Russian civilians from different regions of the country were injured in April as a result of attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces.

59 people died, including five children, said the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodion Miroshnik.

During the period, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked more than 20 ambulances, the diplomat added.

"In April, the Ukrainian armed forces continued to apply their tactics of deliberately targeting rescue, medical and emergency services arriving at the sites of shelling. "During the reporting period, more than two dozen medical vehicles were damaged by shelling," he said.

A Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman noted that during a massive attack by Ukrainian drones over Kursk in April, 15 ambulances and resuscitation vehicles were simultaneously damaged.

The head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, said that the creation of the state of Ukraine was a colossal mistake.

"Having borders with Russia and Europe, Ukraine is becoming a tasty morsel for all Western elites to use in their attempts to destroy Russia. They don't just hate Russia," he stressed.

An American photographer and a Canadian blogger illegally entered the Kursk region before the region was liberated, RIA Novosti reported, based on posts on social networks.

Canadian volunteer, blogger and mercenary Brandon Mitchell visited Sudzha, from where he posted photos and videos on his Instagram blog* with the caption "From Russia with love" and an obscene gesture. He also participated in raising funds to support the units that took part in the assault on the Kursk region.

David Guttenfelder, an American photojournalist, was in the Kursk region as a journalist from the Ukrainian side and published photos with the postscript "NYTimes". They depict destroyed houses in Sudzha, equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces, and bodies of killed and wounded soldiers. He published a series of photographs purportedly of Russian soldiers captured during an attack by Ukrainian militants in the Kursk region. Guttenfelder had previously visited the Sumy region and the DPR.
