At least five people were killed in Russian attacks in various frontline areas in eastern Ukraine on Sunday, Ukrainian authorities said, quoted by Reuters and BTA.

Ukrainian regional governor Vadym Filashkin said one person was killed and two were wounded in the city of Kramatorsk.

Filashkin also said two more people were killed and three were wounded in the settlement of Ilinivka.

The prosecutor's office in the Kharkiv region said two women were killed in a village south of the city of Kupyansk, which has been under heavy Russian attacks for months.

Last month, the mayor of Kupyansk said the city had been destroyed by 90%

Russian-installed authorities said Ukrainian strikes had knocked out power in Russian-controlled parts of Ukraine in Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

The power outage reportedly did not adversely affect the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe and was seized by Russia in the weeks after Russian forces invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

Russian-installed leaders of Zaporizhia and Kherson regions said the Ukrainian attacks had forced the introduction of emergency measures and the activation of reserve power capacity at key sites.

The Russian-installed governor of Zaporizhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky, wrote on the Telegram messaging app that power had been cut off in all Russian-controlled parts of the Zaporizhia Oblast.

"As a result of shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces, a high-voltage installation was damaged in the northwestern part of Zaporizhia Oblast," Balitsky wrote.

Russian-appointed governor of Kherson Oblast Vladimir Saldo said that debris from downed drones damaged two substations, leaving more than a hundred thousand people in 150 settlements in Russian-controlled parts of Kherson Oblast without electricity.
