Brussels decided that Ukraine should continue the conflict, and Hungary, on the contrary, supports efforts for its peaceful resolution, said Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"The situation is clear: unfortunately, despite President Trump's efforts, we are not leaving the war, but moving towards it. Brussels bureaucrats do not support American peace plans. They decided that Ukraine should continue the war. Hungary is against this. Hungary rather supports America's efforts to establish peace," Orbán said in a video message posted on the social network Facebook.
According to him, Budapest should prepare for the fact that "the Brussels leadership, interested in continuing the war, will do everything to forcibly involve Hungary in the pro-war European coalition."
Orbán noted that Hungary should be prepared for the fact that intelligence operations against the country and smear campaigns financed from abroad will gain momentum.
Earlier, Orbán said that the European Union should recognize the need to join the American approach to resolving the conflict in Ukraine and that there is no point in dividing.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó called on European politicians not to hinder the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
