A 6.0 magnitude earthquake occurred early this morning in the Greek Dodecanese islands off the coast of Turkey, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported.
The tremors were registered at 1.17 am Bulgarian time 19 kilometers north of the city of Rhodes on the island of the same name in the Dodecanese archipelago. The epicenter was at a depth of ten kilometers.
A Turkish citizen died after a panic attack and 69 others were injured, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced.
“Fourteen-year-old Afranur Günlu had a panic attack during the earthquake in Fethiye and was hospitalized, but could not be saved“, the minister wrote on the social network X.
