The UN Security Council will vote on Wednesday on a draft resolution drafted by ten non-permanent members demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. This was reported to journalists by the Slovenian mission to the world organization.

The resolution consists of four points. The document contains a request for "an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, respected by all parties", as well as the release of all hostages held in the Palestinian enclave. In addition, the authors of the draft resolution demand “the immediate and unconditional lifting of all restrictions on the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, carried out by both the UN and its humanitarian partners“.

The vote on the draft resolution is scheduled for 22:00 Bulgarian time.

The UN Security Council consists of 15 members, including 5 permanent (Great Britain, China, Russia, USA, France) and 10 non-permanent (Algeria, Guyana, Greece, Denmark, Pakistan, Panama, Republic of Korea, Slovenia, Sierra Leone and Somalia).

Meanwhile, a US Air Force transport plane was unable to land at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport due to a missile strike by the Yemeni Houthis.

“The Missile Forces conducted a military operation, during which attacked Ben-Gurion Airport using a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile, Yahya Sariya, a spokesman for the rebel armed forces, told Al Masira TV channel. According to Sariya, as a result of the strike on the airport for the second day in a row, "an American military transport plane was prevented from landing."

On Tuesday evening, the Israeli military recorded a missile launch from Yemeni territory and an air alert was declared in several areas of the Jewish state. Later, the Israel Defense Forces press service reported that the missile had been intercepted.

The new Syrian authorities denied their participation in the shelling of Israel from the country's territory and condemned the Israeli shelling of Syria. This was made clear in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic.

"We are still verifying the information about the shelling carried out by Syria towards Israel, and we confirm that our country did not pose and will not pose a threat to any country in the Middle East.

"We strongly condemn the Israeli strike targeting the province of Daraa and consider it a gross violation of Syria's sovereignty," the press release published by the Syrian television channel Al-Ikhbariya said. According to the country's leadership, certain "forces seeking to destabilize the region" may be behind the incident, and Damascus "is interested in expanding its power throughout the country and ending the illegal arms trade". Shortly after, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that he held Syria's interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa responsible for the incident.
