If nuclear talks fail and a military conflict with the United States breaks out, Iran is ready to strike US bases in the Middle East. This was stated by Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh just days before the scheduled sixth round of nuclear talks, „Reuters“ reported, quoted by BTA.
„Some representatives of the other side are threatening military action if the talks fail to produce results. "If a conflict is imposed, all American bases in the region are within our reach and we will attack them decisively, regardless of which country they are in," Nasirzadeh said at a press conference.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly issued warnings to Iran, including military strikes, if an agreement is not reached. The next round of talks is scheduled for this week - according to the US, it will take place tomorrow, and according to Iranian authorities - on Sunday, in Oman.
Iran is expected to present a counter-proposal to the already rejected American offer. In a statement yesterday, Trump said that Tehran was becoming "much more aggressive" in the negotiation process.
Minister Nasirzadeh also announced that Iran had successfully tested a missile with a two-ton warhead and stressed that his country would not accept restrictions on the development of its defense capabilities.
