Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Moscow, where he expects to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Iranian news agency IRNA reported.
According to the media, the Iranian Foreign Minister intends to consult with the Russian leader and senior officials on regional and international issues in connection with the US and Israeli strikes on the territory of the Islamic Republic.
Araghchi earlier said that he had a meeting with Putin scheduled for Monday in Moscow. He noted that Russia and Iran have signed a strategic partnership agreement, and Moscow and Tehran regularly hold consultations and coordinate their positions.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that Abbas Araghchi had arrived in Moscow, where he would hold a series of talks.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry handed a note of protest to the Swiss Ambassador to Tehran, Nadine Lozano, who also represents US interests in the republic, in connection with the US military's strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, Tasnim news agency reported.
The US is grossly violating the UN Charter and other documents prohibiting attacks on nuclear facilities used for peaceful purposes. Head of the US Department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Issa Kameli, in a conversation with the Swiss ambassador, stressed that Iran has the right to defend its territory, ensure security and national interests in accordance with the UN Charter. Lozano, in turn, said he would immediately pass the memo on to U.S. government officials.
