US President Donald Trump has approved the transfer of five batteries of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine, which were taken off duty in Israel. This was stated by the expert on international relations and chairman of the all-Ukrainian organization “Ukraine in NATO“ Yuri Romanyuk on the air of the Ukrainian television channel Novosti.Live, reports Focus.
“I have unofficial information that Trump has approved the issue of providing five Patriot systems dismantled in Israel“, said Romanyuk.
According to him, some of these systems have already been transferred to Poland, and others - returned to the United States. Currently, they are undergoing repair and modernization in the respective countries. Romanyuk expressed confidence that the transfer would be free of charge.
Earlier, White House spokeswoman Carolyn Levitt reported that during a phone call with US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had requested additional supplies of Patriot systems. According to Levitt, Trump agreed to explore the possibilities, especially for units available in Europe.
