Iranian authorities are not seeking a meeting or other contacts with US President Donald Trump, Tehran currently sees no conditions for holding a new round of negotiations with Washington. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic to the UN, Amir Saeed Iravani, in an interview with the American television channel CBS.

“We are holding talks, we are ready for talks, but after this aggression there are no suitable conditions for a new round of negotiations and there are no requests for talks and a meeting with the American president“, said Iravani, commenting on Trump's statements that the Iranian authorities want to meet with him.

As the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic emphasized, Trump's statements that Iran should strive for “unconditional surrender“, “are not negotiations“, but an attempt by Washington to dictate its will to Tehran. “If they are ready to negotiate, they will see that we are ready to do the same. But if they want to dictate something to us, it will be impossible to negotiate with them,” Iravani added.

On June 27, Trump said that Iranian authorities want to meet with him as soon as possible, despite Tehran's official statements to the contrary.

Tehran expects Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Belarus this year. This was stated by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic in Minsk, Alireza Sanei.

“The dates and conditions of the visit have not yet been determined, but we expect that we will be able to carry it out in 2025“, the diplomat told the First Information television channel.

Earlier, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council that Pezeshkian was supposed to attend the meeting for the first time as a representative of an observer state in the EAEU, but was unable to do so due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
