Iran cannot provide the usual level of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) until the security of its inspectors is guaranteed. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai, quoted by Reuters, after US and Israeli air strikes hit Iranian nuclear sites a few days ago, BTA reports.
The statement comes amid rising tensions between Tehran and Western countries over Iran's nuclear program.
Meanwhile, France, Germany and Britain strongly condemned “threats against IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi“, AFP reported.
“We call on Iran to take all necessary measures to guarantee the safety and security of IAEA personnel“, the foreign ministers of the three countries – Jean-Noël Barrot (France), Johann Vaddefull (Germany) and David Lamy (United Kingdom) – said in a joint statement.
