It will take time to clarify what weapons the United States is supplying and will supply to Ukraine. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by "Reuters".
His words were in response to US President Donald Trump's request that Washington should send more weapons to Kiev.
Yesterday, Trump announced that the United States would send more weapons to Ukraine, mainly defensive, to help the war-torn country defend itself from the increasing Russian offensive.
When asked about Trump's statement, Peskov noted that there are many contradictory statements about the supply of weapons from the US to Ukraine, although it is clear that those from Europe continue.
"Obviously, the supplies continue, that is clear. "Obviously, the Europeans are actively involved in supplying Ukraine with weapons," he stressed.
"As for what supplies and in what quantities Ukraine continues to receive from the United States, it will take time to clarify this finally", Peskov added.
Russia, which is advancing in different parts of the front, currently controls just under 1/5 of Ukrainian territory, including Crimea, the entire Luhansk region, most of three other regions and parts of three more regions.
Peskov said that Moscow appreciates Trump's efforts to start direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and, in his opinion, there is significant potential for restarting Russian-American trade and economic relations.
"However, the United States is currently implementing a number of restrictions. We believe that these sanctions are illegal and harm not only our entrepreneurs, but also entrepreneurs of the United States," Peskov stressed.
