Oil prices are rising after the attacks on ships in the Red Sea and a forecast for lower oil production in the United States, "Reuters" reported.
Brent crude oil futures rose 12 cents, or 0.2%, to $70.27 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose 11 cents, or 0.2%, to $68.44 a barrel.
After months of calm in the Red Sea, attacks on the world's main shipping lane have resumed in the past week, blamed on Yemen's Houthis but not claiming responsibility.
On July 8, the Energy Information Administration forecast that the United States would produce less oil in 2025 than expected as falling oil prices forced American producers to slow down.
