US President Donald Trump said on Truth Social that his political opponents had fabricated the story of additional documents in the case of American financier Jeffrey Epstein.

“Epstein has been coming up over and over again for years“, Trump noted, adding that the discussion of this case “serves as an advertisement for documents that have been“ by former US President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) James Comey, former head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) John Brennan, as well as members of the administration of former US President Joe Biden.

“They created the Epstein documents, just like they created the fake dossier on Hillary Clinton and former MI6 agent Christopher Steele, which they used against me, and now my so-called friends are mocking them“, the head of the White House outlined his version.

“Why didn't these radical left-wing lunatics release the Epstein documents? "If there was something in them that would harm the MAGA movement, why didn't they use them?" Trump said, defending US Attorney General Pam Bondi, who has been criticized for her alleged reluctance to release additional materials on the Epstein case.

On July 6, the Axios portal reported that the US Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation had found no evidence of Epstein's possible extortion of influential people, the existence of an allegedly existing list of his clients, or any confirmation of the version of his murder.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said at a briefing that Epstein's "client list" that the Attorney General had previously mentioned does not exist. SpaceX founder Elon Musk then questioned whether Trump could be trusted if the White House did not publish materials on the Epstein case.

At the same time, Trump himself and members of his team repeatedly promised during the election campaign to declassify documents from the Epstein investigation and ensure maximum transparency of this story.

Epstein was detained by New York state law enforcement agencies on July 6, 2019. Prosecutors said they had evidence that he organized visits to his Manhattan home between 2002 and 2005 for dozens of underage girls, the youngest of whom was 14 years old. Epstein's circle of friends and acquaintances included a large number of current and former officials not only in the United States but also in many other countries, including former heads of state, big businessmen, and show business stars. The financier's criminal prosecution in the United States was dropped after he committed suicide in his prison cell on August 10, 2019.
