Ukrainian drones attacked the training center of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (NPP) last night, the facility's Moscow-appointed leadership said, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
“The enemy used three unmanned aerial vehicles“, said a statement published on the power plant's channel on the “Telegram“ app. According to the statement, there were no injuries, no fire, and no “critical damage“.
Earlier on Saturday, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) monitors stationed in the area reported hearing hundreds of small arms fire near the plant.
The Zaporizhzhia NPP has been under the control of Russian forces since the first weeks after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Since then, Kiev and Moscow have regularly exchanged accusations of dangerous actions around the facility that could lead to a serious nuclear accident.
