Russia is ready to participate in a third round of talks with Ukraine, with the composition of the Russian delegation remaining unchanged. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by RIA Novosti. According to him, an exact date for the meeting has not yet been determined, BTA reports.
“As soon as we receive final information about the dates, we will inform you immediately“, said Peskov.
He added that the documents that the two sides exchanged during the second round of talks in Istanbul differ significantly. “The draft amendments are diametrically opposed and there is a lot of diplomatic work to be done“, the Kremlin spokesman stressed.
Meanwhile, the Russian news agency TASS, citing sources, reported that the third round of negotiations could take place this week in Istanbul. According to the Ukrainian publication “Suspilne“, the meeting could take place on Tuesday or Wednesday. The Turkish media Independent Türkçe, on the other hand, points to Wednesday and Thursday as likely dates.
So far, the main result of the first two rounds has been the large-scale exchange of prisoners of war between the two countries.
