Russian intelligence services and propagandists are closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine amid protests against the adoption of the law in the Verkhovna Rada, placing anti-corruption agencies under the control of the Prosecutor General, reported on “Facebook“ The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Ukrinform reported, BTA reported.

According to the GUR, the enemy's goal is to use the protests against the law to undermine Ukraine's ability to defend itself against full-scale Russian aggression.

The department warned that Russia aims to discredit Ukraine around the world in order to weaken and shatter Western support for armed resistance against the aggressor.

Ukrainian intelligence has data according to which Russia is considering using public discontent to intensify internal destabilization. It plans to use all available resources to exert influence, especially means of information warfare.

“To escalate the protests, deepen the division and sow chaos in Ukrainian society, ultimately eroding the state's resilience during this war for existence, provocations inspired by Moscow cannot be ruled out“, the GUR noted.

The intelligence service called on Ukrainian citizens to maintain common sense in their assessments and actions. It stressed that the Ukrainian nation is facing a war of extermination, in which the aggressor is trying by all available means to destroy the country.

Ukrinform recalls that yesterday the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that reduces the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP). President Zelensky signed the law on the same day. Protests were held in Kiev and other Ukrainian cities demanding that the president veto the new law.
