Three workers died in an explosion during dredging on a branch of the Danube River in southwestern Ukraine, DPA reported, citing local authorities, BTA reports.
Seven more people from the dredging team were hospitalized, Ukrainian port authorities said in a Facebook post.
The incident occurred during work on the Bistre navigation canal, which was immediately closed to traffic after the explosion.
The statement did not specify the cause of the explosion. However, it is known that the area has repeatedly been the target of Russian drone attacks, some of which were neutralized by the Ukrainian defense.
