Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg is visiting North Macedonia, writes "360 degrees", referring to photos on Facebook published by the Socio-Cultural Center in Tetovo, which show that she visited the organization yesterday.
A video was shared on Instagram in which Thunberg herself confirms that she is in Skopje, reports BTA correspondent in Skopje Marinela Velichkova.
The Socio-Cultural Center in Tetovo is a space that serves for inclusion and youth initiatives, and Thunberg's visit to North Macedonia comes after her participation in a protest in Tirana, the publication writes.
The website sdk.mk writes that in North Macedonia Thunberg will join the blockade against the construction of a small hydroelectric power plant on the Došnica River in the Kožuf Mountains (Kožuh).
„I am in Skopje, where the Macedonian parliament yesterday refused to vote on sending humanitarian aid to Gaza. We must show solidarity and fight. I will join a discussion at the social center „Dunja“ and the blockade of the Došnica River“, Thunberg says in the Instagram video.
For a month, local residents and environmental activists from North Macedonia have been blocking the road to the Kožuf ski resort and preventing the construction of a hydroelectric power plant on the Došnica River from starting.
