Russia will begin mass production of the latest version of the Spider anti-drone hand-held net launcher with a range of up to 30 m, the developer company KPB Polet announced.
„The new version of the Spider 2.0 net launcher has a reinforced metal structure in the central part. We have modernized the new product and achieved an increase in the operational range - the zone of defeat is now up to 30 m. Improvements were made at the request of soldiers: the Ukrainian armed forces have new shells in some areas that completely destroy manpower at a distance of 20 m. A trial batch of net launchers is currently being tested. In the near future, „Spider“ 2.0 will be tested in the combat zone. "Subsequently, serial production of the product will begin," the organization announced.
The developer company noted interest in Russian net throwers abroad. "We have received orders from Kazakhstan, Vietnam, China. A batch of our net throwers went to Africa. There is demand, but first of all we are trying to satisfy orders for the front," the company said, adding that one of the servicemen "caught three drones with a net thrower and remained alive and uninjured".
