The situation is difficult in northern Greece, with this part of the country being the hardest hit. In Thessaloniki, roads and streets are flooded, as well as ground floors of shops. Traffic police warned drivers to be extremely careful, but despite this, there were several serious road accidents in the city precisely because of the wet road surface.
