The US military is preparing to mobilize hundreds of National Guard soldiers in Washington, two US officials told Reuters on Sunday, News.bg reports.
According to them, the final decision has not yet been made by President Donald Trump, but the troops are already ready for deployment.
One of the officials specified that there is still no clarity on the specific tasks of the soldiers. They could be engaged both in protecting federal agents and in carrying out administrative activities to free up resources for law enforcement agencies.
