At least 25 people have been killed in the past 24 hours in Israeli shelling near humanitarian aid distribution points in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian health authorities said, quoted by the Associated Press, BTA reports.
According to data from the "Nasser" and "Al-Awda" hospitals, the victims were shot on the way to aid points or while waiting for convoys to arrive.
At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will allow Palestinians to leave some of the most densely populated areas of the enclave ahead of the upcoming military offensive. He supported US President Donald Trump's idea of "voluntary migration" of much of Gaza's more than 2 million population - a proposal that critics have described as a form of ethnic cleansing.
Meanwhile, efforts to renew ceasefire talks have resumed after a month-long hiatus. Representatives of "Hamas" and Egypt met in Cairo on Monday, the movement's Taher al-Nounu said. Israel has said it will not send a team to the talks.
