Israeli Air Force fighter jets launched strikes on five Lebanese areas north of the Litani River, where there are suspected military targets of the Shiite militia Hezbollah, the local civil defense service said in a report published in X.
The airstrikes targeted the outskirts of the villages of Burguz, Jabour, Jermak, El-Qatraniya and El-Mahmudia, where movement of Shiite fighters was observed.
Earlier in the Western Bekaa region, underground shelters built in the Wadi Zelaya gorge were hit by rocket strikes and several powerful explosions thundered there. Reports of attacks on Hezbollah bases came from the mountainous Iqlim al-Tufa region.
An Israeli drone attacked the border town of Aitarun in the afternoon, wounding two police officers.
According to the Republic's Ministry of Health, despite the ceasefire agreement reached on November 27, 2024, Israel has carried out more than 4,000 attacks on Lebanese territory since the beginning of the year. As a result of these attacks and shelling, 238 people were killed and more than 500 were injured. The authorities did not specify the number of civilian casualties or the volume of losses suffered by Shiite fighters.
