Iran begins independent military exercises after conflict with Israel - 1

Iran began its first independent military exercises on Monday since a 12-day conflict with Israel in June, Iranian state media reported, quoted by Reuters. The aim of the exercises is to demonstrate military power after suffering significant losses, BTA reports.

The regular army's naval forces fired missiles and drones at targets in the Indian Ocean as part of the "Resistant Force 1404" exercises, state television reported.

State media noted that the exercises are taking place about a month after the Iranian-Russian "Kassarex 2025" exercise in the Caspian Sea, as "Resistant Force" is being organized to the southern coast of the country.

In June, Israel carried out air strikes on Iran, briefly supported by the United States, which hit nuclear facilities and led to the deaths of high-ranking military personnel and scientists. The conflict destroyed a significant part of Iran's air defenses and ballistic missile stockpiles. Since then, Tehran has said it is ready to respond to any future military attack.

"Any new venture by the enemy will be met with a decisive response," the Iranian Defense Ministry said today.

US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States may strike Iran if the country restores its nuclear facilities for enriching uranium.

Following the Israeli and American strikes, Iran broke off talks with the United States but continues limited cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). According to the first diplomat, Abbas Araghchi, the time for "fruitful" nuclear talks with the US has not yet come.
