The Norwegian government announced on Monday that it would provide Ukraine with air defense systems worth nearly 7 billion Norwegian kroner ($696 million), Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
“Together with Germany, we will ensure that Ukraine receives effective air defense systems“, said Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
He added that “Germany and Norway are working closely together to support Ukraine in its efforts to defend itself and protect civilians from Russian air attacks“.
The two countries are financing the delivery to Kiev of two “Patriot“ systems along with the missiles for them. In addition, Norway is involved in the provision of an air defense radar manufactured by the German company “Hensoldt“, as well as air defense systems from the Norwegian company “Køngsberg“.
