European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will visit Romania today, BTA reported.
In the afternoon, she will meet with President Nikosor Dan and Prime Minister Ilie Bolognese in the seaside city of Constanta.
The talks will focus on cooperation between the EU and NATO, as well as the detection, prevention and deterrence of maritime and hybrid threats.
Before Romania, Ursula von der Leyen also visited Bulgaria on Sunday. The visit is part of her tour of the countries on the EU's eastern border – Latvia, Finland, Estonia, Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Romania.
The aim of the visit of the EC President is to underline the EU's support for the Member States facing the challenges of the common borders with Russia and Belarus.
