Chinese President Xi Jinping today called on the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to uphold honesty and fairness in his address to the 25th meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State, Xinhua reported, quoted by BTA.
“We must promote a correct historical perspective on World War II and oppose the Cold War mentality, bloc confrontation and bullying practices,“ Xi said.
He also called for preserving the international system centered on the United Nations and supporting the multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization at its core.
He said China will provide grants of 2 billion yuan (about 281 million US dollars) to SCO member states this year, as well as 10 billion yuan in loans to banks of the SCO Interbank Consortium over the next three years.
“We should better coordinate our development strategies and promote high-quality implementation of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative,“ said Xi.
