Falling debris from a destroyed Ukrainian drone caused a fire at an electrical substation in Russia, reports “Reuters“, writes News.bg.
The incident occurred in the city of Kropotkin in the Krasnodar Territory. The fire was immediately extinguished. According to preliminary data, no one was injured. The full extent of the attack and potential damage are still unclear.
Several southern and southwestern regions of Russia were under air alert for hours overnight.
Flight operations at several airports, including in Saratov and Volgograd, were suspended for several hours to ensure airspace safety, Russia's civil aviation agency Rosaviatsia said.
Kiev says its strikes in Russia are targeting infrastructure critical to Moscow's overall military effort. Both sides deny targeting civilians in the war, which Russia launched in February 2022.
