Over 300 people were evacuated from their homes overnight after an attack with Ukrainian drones on the capital of Rostov region. This was announced by the acting regional governor Yuri Slyusar, quoted by “Reuters“, reports News.bg.
According to data from the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense units destroyed 13 Ukrainian drones over the region. It is not specified how many drones were detected.
“An unexploded shell (from a drone) was found in one of the apartments. As a precautionary measure, 320 residents of the building are being evacuated“, Slyusar specified in Telegram.
The attack damaged several residential buildings in the city of Rostov-on-Don. Three people, including a child, suffered minor injuries.
The mayor of Rostov-on-Don, Alexander Skryabin, said residents were being moved to a school while explosive ordnance disposal teams removed the shell.
Both Moscow and Kiev deny targeting civilians during the war, which began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
