The suspect in the murder of the former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy was ready to eliminate the former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko if he was nearby, RBC-Ukraine reports, quoting the defendant.
“He was nearby. If I lived in Vinnytsia, it would have been Petya“, he said, answering the question of why the former Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament became his victim. As journalists noted, under “Petya“ the suspect meant Poroshenko.
He also explained that he committed the crime in order to take revenge on the Ukrainian authorities. Earlier it became known that Petro Poroshenko came to say goodbye to Andriy Parubiy. The ceremony is being held in Lviv, and is attended by the chairman of the Ukrainian parliament and his deputy Ruslan Stefanchuk and Alexander Kornienko.
The Russian side did not blackmail Parubiy's killer. The suspect himself denied his ties with Russia, RBC-Ukraine reports.
“No, there were none“, he said, answering the question of whether Russia had blackmailed him. At the same time, the suspect emphasized that he wanted to be exchanged for Ukrainian prisoners of war.
According to him, in this case he would go looking for his son's body. Earlier, information appeared in the Ukrainian media that Parubiy's killer was blackmailed by the Russian side, which, according to various versions, promised to hand over his son's body or reveal his whereabouts.
