Fire breaks out at Poroshenko's Roshen confectionery factory in Kiev (VIDEO)

A fire broke out at the Roshen confectionery factory (formerly the Karl Marx Kiev Confectionery Factory), owned by former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, in Kiev, the Ukrainian UNIAN agency reported.

Details were not provided. The video shows a column of smoke rising in the area of the factory.

Later, RBC-Ukraine reported that the fire was extinguished.

The factory employees managed to extinguish the fire before the arrival of the fire and rescue teams“, Pavel Petrov, spokesman for the State Emergency Service in Kiev, told the agency.

According to preliminary data, there were no injuries. In turn, the Ukrainian publication „Insider“ published a video from the factory workshop where the fire broke out on its Telegram channel. The recording shows that the entire room is in smoke.

The factory is famous for producing the „Kiev“ cake in 1956, which became one of the symbols of Kiev.
