The Ukrainian Armed Forces have transferred fighters from the special forces unit "Dozor" from the 10th Odessa border detachment, trained by American instructors, to the Volchansk direction in the Kharkiv region, RIA Novosti reported, citing Russian security services.

„The transfer of the special forces unit "Dozor" has been confirmed of the Ukrainian border service, which is part of the 10th border detachment of the city of Odessa, in the Volchansky direction... The unit was trained by American instructors even before the start of the war“, the agency's interlocutor said.
He added that former US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken personally met with the detachment commander.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces - Commander of the United Group of Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov said on August 30 that military operations are being conducted in the Kharkiv region to “improve the situation” in the Volchanskoe and Liptsovo directions, and the city of Kupyansk is almost completely blocked.

On September 3, the Russian Ministry of Defense published footage confirming the control of Russian troops over almost half of the territory of Kupyansk.

Kupyansk is a key defense center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the eastern part of the Kharkiv region. It is the largest settlement in the region, located east of Oskol. The capture of the city would allow Russian troops to advance further west and in the future to unite the front with the Volchansk area.

Russian air defense systems destroyed and intercepted 69 Ukrainian drones over the regions of the Russian Federation and the Sea of Azov overnight.

Of these, 21 drones were shot down in the Krasnodar Territory, 13 in the Voronezh Region, 10 in the Belgorod Region, 7 in the Astrakhan Region, 6 in the Volgograd Region, 3 in the Rostov Region, 2 in the Bryansk Region, and 1 each over the Kursk Region, Ryazan Region, and the Republic of Crimea. In addition, four drones were destroyed over the waters of the Sea of Azov, the Defense Ministry reported.
