Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will pay an official visit to the Republic of Montenegro on September 8 and 9, 2025. He will hold meetings with the Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajic, as well as with the President of the Balkan state – Jakov Milatovic, the press center of the Council of Ministers reports.
It is planned to sign two documents on cooperation between Bulgaria and Montenegro on the first day of the visit. Prime Minister Zhelyazkov and his colleague Spajic will sign an agreement on scientific and technological cooperation.
The Ministers of Transport of the two countries – Grozdan Karadzhov and Maja Vukicevic will sign a bilateral declaration of cooperation, expressing the desire of the countries to provide a direct air line connecting the capitals Sofia and Podgorica.
On the occasion of the Unification Day, which was celebrated the day before, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will unveil a bust-monument of Prince Alexander I Battenberg at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Montenegro. One of the greatest contributions of the prince to the Bulgarian people is precisely the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia, from which this significant date marks 140 years.
It is also planned that Rosen Zhelyazkov will deliver a public lecture to the students at the university.
The official delegation will also include Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov, Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh and Minister of Health Silvi Kirilov, who will hold meetings with their Montenegrin colleagues.
