Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today at a joint press conference in Kiev with Finnish President Alexander Stubb that he had asked US President Donald Trump to supply Ukraine with long-range weapons if Russia continues to reject a ceasefire in its war against the country. The news was reported by “Reuters“, quoted by BTA.
Zelensky compared Russia's latest attack on Poland to the events in Crimea and pointed out that the role of the “little green men“ this time was played by Russian drones, “Ukrinform“ reported.
“In my opinion, the most frightening thing is that this attack resembles Crimea. Psychologically, how is it different? It's just that now it's a technological war, people in green uniforms are no longer needed to invade foreign territory. Today, Russian-made drones were performing the same role in Poland," the Ukrainian president said.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the country's armed forces had captured the village of Sosnovka in the Dnipropetrovsk region. "As a result of active offensive actions, units of the Army Group "East" liberated the village of Sosnovka," the ministry said in a statement, quoted by TASS.
