Israel's permanent representative to the UN Danny Danon said that if Qatar does not condemn and expel the Palestinian movement Hamas, the Jewish state will.

“It is time for Qatar to make a choice. Either Qatar condemns Hamas, expels Hamas and holds Hamas accountable, or Israel will do it“, he said at a meeting of the UN Security Council.

According to him, Qatar “has long harbored terrorists“ and provided asylum to Hamas leaders “who have organized assassinations and terrorist attacks“.

Earlier, the Qatari Foreign Ministry called the statements of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who accused Doha of harboring terrorists on its territory, was “reckless”. Doha strongly condemned the Israeli prime minister's statements, describing them as “a shameful attempt to justify “the cowardly Israeli attack on Qatari territory”.
