At least 46 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Yemen's capital Sanaa and Al-Jawf province, which are controlled by the Houthi rebel movement Ansar Allah, the Ministry of Health of the Yemeni rebel-held government said.
“The death toll in the attack on Sanaa and Al-Jawf has risen to 46, and another 165 people were injured. Many of them are women and children. The death toll is not final“, the Houthi-controlled ministry said in a statement. The ministry said five children and 11 women were among the dead.
On Wednesday, Israeli aircraft carried out a series of strikes on targets in Sanaa and Al-Jawf. According to a statement from the Israeli army, the targets were rebel military bases, the movement's press office and a fuel depot. The Houthi Defense Ministry building and the rebel general headquarters in Sanaa were also hit.
According to a military spokesman for “Ansar Allah“, the Israeli aircraft attacked only civilian targets, including the offices of two local newspapers.
