The final project of the private hospital "Mommy and Me" foresees the opening of 11 structures for the treatment of children, including neonatology, pediatric surgery, pediatric oncology, BNR reported.
This is recorded in a report of the Executive Agency "Medical Supervision", which made three comprehensive assessments of the project before it was proposed for approval by the Council of Ministers.
Earlier, the Public Council for the Establishment of a National Children's Hospital requested the publication of the documents with which permission was granted for the construction of the medical facility.
The decision, which the government voted on Tuesday, was reversed on Wednesday after public pressure.
The initial project of the Trade League, which received a positive opinion from the Health Fund and was assessed in April last year, envisages 29 hospital structures with 421 beds. Subsequently, the number of beds was reduced by eight, and the structures – increased by 10. Those for treating children are retained – among them are neurology, hematology, gastroenterology. The latest assessment was signed by the director of the Medical Supervision Ivanka Dineva, after an opinion signed by the dismissed manager of the Health Fund Stanimir Mihailov.
On the BNR broadcast, Dr. Maria Sharkova from the Public Council for a National Children's Hospital expressed concern that a private hospital with beds for children would not work for the interests of society.
Report of the Executive Agency "Medical Oversight" shows the need to open a new multi-specialty hospital in Sofia, explained to BNR the Acting Minister of Health, Dr. Galya Kondeva, without giving more details about the evaluation of the "Mama and I" hospital project sent to her.
From the agency's statement sent to the media, it is clear that only the address of the land on which it will be built has been changed in the final project – instead of boulevard "Dr. G.M. Dimitrov", in a property near Sofia Airport.
Today, the Trade League did not give any more information about what they will do after the canceled decision to build a hospital. Yesterday, the company announced that they will change the name of the medical facility and will not create a pediatric structure.
As for the project for a national children's hospital, the Ministry of Health announced that a contract is to be concluded with a company that will demolish the buildings on the site selected for construction and clear it for the start of the new construction.
