The director of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, Prof. Iva Hristova, explained that there have been tiger mosquitoes on the territory of the country for a long time. "It's a tropical mosquito. But long ago with warming and moisture, it spread quite widely, mainly in southern Europe.
She reported that the insect was not dangerous. "But it carries tropical diseases that do not exist in our latitudes, such as dengue. On a global scale, there is a general rise in the incidence of dengue, in Bulgaria we already have four cases. But all of them are imported cases, brought from another country," explained the director of the NCZPB, quoted by Nova TV.
" There is no risk for Bulgaria. We have isolated cases, besides, the disease was not severe", she explained.
"There are two dangerous snakes for us - viper and viper. It's very rare to get bitten and besides, we should know that there is anti-snake serum. It is a Bulgarian production", she pointed out and added that there have been no cases of being bitten by the reptiles.
