Prof. Hinkov: Control in health care was liquidated - 1

The parties in the coalition "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) did not accept the proposal of "Yes, Bulgaria" to conduct preliminary elections, through which the lists for the upcoming parliamentary vote will be arranged.

"I have detached myself from the political processes, but I follow them. It baffles me that there is a misunderstanding of why primaries should be held. In the end, it is with the preferences that it can be seen that the arrangement of the lists was not in accordance with the expectations of the people and the representativeness of the deputies. A democratic approach requires that there be such a pre-selection.

This was stated by the former Minister of Health Prof. Hristo Hinkov in the studio of "The Day ON AIR".

He emphasized the need to renew the political composition and attract new, active personalities to replace the current political figures.

"There is a general process of disintegration in Bulgaria and all systems and serious parties are beginning to falter, which is extremely dangerous for the political health of the Bulgarians and for the health of the state in conditions that are difficult and risky in terms of foreign policy. We are in a state of participation in a war that is taking place 400 kilometers away from us and we do not realize how important and risky this is. We act as if everything around us is fine, but that's not the case", emphasized Prof. Hinkov to Bulgaria ON AIR.

Regarding the health reform, the guest noted that its implementation requires long-term and sustainable management to ensure continuity and stability. According to him, the current situation and the replacement of personnel contributed to the failure of the reform.

In the words of the former health minister, healthcare should not have a color, but the lack of control in it leads to chaos in the field.

"All these years, health care control was liquidated. There is a lack of any kind of control in the management of a hospital. Systematic control is needed, which is carried out in different ways. One of the ways is periodic accreditation of hospitals according to certain rules and standards that must be adopted by the Ministry of Health, said Prof. Hinkov.
