„In December, we had a lower prevalence of respiratory infections, we now expect an increase. In Romania, there is a significant increase in flu cases. The flu is spreading fastest in Russia, Moldova and Romania, and perhaps our turn will come.“
This was stated to bTV by Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev.
„The peak is expected either at the end of January, as usual, or at the beginning of February. What does peak mean? This is the period when there are the most cases in the shortest time. It is expected that two weeks after this peak, the cases will decrease“, he added.
According to him, we can recognize the flu mainly by its short incubation period.
“When you get sick, it manifests itself within 24 hours. It can be on the fourth day, but very rarely. The symptoms are high fever, sore throat, muscle and joint pain, you don't feel like getting out of bed“, the professor explained.
“If you immediately take an anti-flu drug prescribed by a doctor, the symptoms rarely decrease the next day. Otherwise, with claims of anti-flu - a lot”, he said.
According to him, more home-cooked food should be consumed.
“Smart people consume pickles, sauerkraut. These are the best traditions of our national cuisine, which have preserved us for centuries. "If we have the opportunity, it is good to consume fruit. It is also good to take vitamin D, but not in large quantities and with interruptions, because otherwise we burden the liver," said the professor.
